What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a titanium post that replaces a tooth root. On top of the implant, a crown, bridge, or denture is firmly fixed into place as a natural-looking, stable tooth replacement.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Implants look, act, and feel like natural teeth. People usually do not notice any difference

Implants are the strongest and longest-lasting replacement for missing teeth.

Implants let you talk, chew, and exert pressure, just like natural teeth. This means that denture wearers no longer have an issue with loose dentures and painful chewing. In most cases an implant supported denture will allow a person to eat what they want.

Implants don’t require alteration to the structure of the adjacent teeth as you would with a dental bridge.

Implants help preserve bone in the jaw. They prevent the collapsed and wrinkled look caused by the progressive bone loss that occurs with missing teeth and dentures.
